Where to shop in Mallorca? The island has a good range of supermarkets from discount to premium.

Main supermarkets

  • Mercadona: Largest chain, affordable, excellent own brand (Hacendado)
  • Lidl: Same as across Europe, good value
  • Aldi: Arrived in Mallorca in 2024, expanding
  • Eroski: Balearic chain, good selection, mid-range prices
  • Carrefour: Large hypermarket in Palma, wide range
  • HiperDino / Binipreu: Local chains, great fresh local products

British/international products

  • Iceland (frozen foods): Some stores in tourist areas
  • Amazon.es: Ships many international food products
  • Specialty shops: Several international delis across the island

Weekly markets

Mallorca has wonderful weekly markets with fresh fruit, vegetables, fish and local specialities. Biggest: Palma (Olivar), Sineu (Wednesday), Inca (Thursday), Alcúdia (Sunday).

Opening hours

Typically Mon-Sat 9:00-21:30. Most supermarkets are closed on Sundays.
